Food Rush is a online food ordering and delivery platform. Food Rush strives to deliver delicious and nutritious food right to your door. They provide a wide range of affordable prices and discounts. Food Rush targets customers like commuters and workers who lack the time or ability to prepare a family lunch/ dinner.

Project Overview

The Problem

Working people and commuters are too busy to cook meals.

The goal

Design an app for Food Rush that will make it simple for customers to order and pick up fresh, healthy food.

My Role

UI/ UX DESIGNER  designing an app for Food Rush from conception to Pick Up / delivery.

Responsiblities

Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.

To better understand the users I'm creating for and their needs, I conducted interviews and produced empathy maps. Working people who don't have time to prepare meals were one of the main user groups discovered through research. 

 

However, study also showed that consumers' inability to cook at home was not just due to a lack of time. This user group verified the initial hypotheses regarding Food Rush clients. Other customer issues included commitments, hobbies, or difficulties that made it tough to physically visit restaurants or buy groceries for cooking.

Some ordering platforms force users to cancel their orders since they do not offer various payment options.

When it comes to issues in delivery, they not only include delays, but also the quality and quantity of the food, packaging and unpleasant behavior by delivery persons.

Going forward

What I learned

The Food Rush app design process taught me that the initial app concepts are just the start of the process. Each version of the app's designs was impacted by usability tests and user input.

Impact

Users of the app get the impression that Food Rush genuinely considers how to suit their demands.

Next Steps

  • Expanding to new locations.

  • Adding new restaurant partners.

  • Offering additional services
